Islam’s dynamism is that it relates to the individual holistically in every aspect of life. The faith gives the individual tools in preventative mental health, maintaining that health and in addition, gives the tools to combat the illness (es) if it arises. It creates order in one’s life so that the individual comes to peace, being able to move on and build in their life. Psychological illness is an illness not to be denied. It is not something that ‘just goes away’ as some hope; it is a struggle for the individual suffering, their families, and support systems. Through client – therapist rapport the individual afflicted with illness will learn tools and how to balance mind and medicine to aid them in their challenge. Reach out and get the help you need.
